Monitoring Inventory Plot Support for Carbon Project Developer

Location: Central Appalachians


Scope of Work:

  • Field establishment of monitoring plots for ongoing forest condition evaluation
  • Data collection aligned with program metrics for carbon sequestration and ecological health
  • Coordination with carbon project developer's regional managers and adherence to field quality assurance protocols

The accurate and consistent delivery of plot data helped the developer advance its regional strategy for scaling carbon markets to small landowners. Reforestation Project Assistance

Location: Ohio


Scope of Work:

  • Management and audit of a multi-stage planting project on a previously planted but underperforming site—an abandoned agricultural field with a dense herbaceous layer that compromised seedling survival
  • Overseeing site preparation operations across multiple parcels to improve site conditions for replanting
  • Updated acreage mapping and geospatial files to support operational planning and documentation
  • Performed quality assurance checks on both the seedlings and the planting operations
  • Performed in-field audits to assess planting depth, snugness, upright orientation, and spacing

Heritage Habitat & Forestry, LLC supported a carbon project developer in the reforestation of hundreds of unforested land in Ohio, including the audit of thousands of individual seedlings, screening for quality indicators such as mold, decay, undersized stems, and insufficient height.
